About MNLU

Established in 2014, Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai (MNLU Mumbai) has rapidly become one of India’s premier law institutions. Located in one of the nation’s largest and most renowned cities, MNLU Mumbai is dedicated to delivering advanced legal education and fostering research in legal studies to enhance societal well-being. The university’s motto, “Dharma Tatparta,” signifies its commitment to social justice.

MNLU Mumbai endeavors to realize a holistic vision that aligns with the spirit of the Indian Constitution. It aims to disseminate advanced legal knowledge and train students in advocacy, legal services, and law reforms. This equips students with the necessary skills and awareness to use these tools for social transformation and development.

About Pro-Bono Club

The Pro Bono Club at Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai is a club run in association with the Nyaya Bandhu (Pro Bono Legal Services) Program of the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice. The club is a group of students who are aiding in the implementation of laws in society.

About CPHL

Centre for Applied Research in Public Health Law, Rights, and Policy was established to promote and advance research, scholarship, and awareness in the areas of public health policies, public health programs, and policy reforms in national and global contexts. It was established on 17th May 2023.

About The Summit (Main Theme)

Gender profoundly shapes societal roles and expectations. Embracing gender diversity promotes inclusivity, challenges stereotypes, and empowers individuals. Technology, crucial in our lives, intersects with gender issues, but AI often mirrors societal biases due to its data sources, leading to discrimination against women and gender minorities. This bias affects decisions in credit allocation, healthcare prioritization, and job recruitment, impacting women’s psychological, economic, and health security.

Kindly note: The list of sub-themes is merely indicative and not exhaustive. Any topic or any paper in relevance to the main topic can be considered.

Acceptance of Abstracts

  • Papers are invited from teachers, researchers, professionals, students, and law enthusiasts from all over the globe for presentation at this summit.
  • Only good-quality abstracts (up to 300 words) will be accepted for presentation.
  • Each presentation will last 10 minutes.
  • The presentation must include the topic, research questions, methods, utility and contribution of research, and tentative findings or suggestions.

Important Dates

  • Abstract Submission Deadline: September 20th, 2024
  • Last Date to Register as a participant: October 10th, 2024
  • Acceptance of Abstract Notification: September 25th, 2024
  • Date of Full Paper Submission/ Working paper submission:  October 5, 2024        
  • Date of Presentation: October 12th and 13th, 2024
