About Goa University
Goa University was established under the Goa University Act of 1984 (Act No. 7 of 1984) and commenced operations on 1 June 1985. The University is included under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 and also awarded the status 12 B of the UGC Act, 1956 by the University Grants Commission.
About 2nd Parrikar National Moot Court and Policy Hackathon 2025
The LL.M. Programme of Manohar Parrikar School of Law, Governance and Public Policy, Goa University proudly presents the Moot Court Competition segment designed to nurture the art of advocacy, judgement writing and Constitution Quiz. The Moot Court Competition aims to provide a platform for law students across the country to showcase their advocacy skills, legal knowledge, and critical thinking abilities.
The Judgment Writing competition offers participants an opportunity to showcase their analytical prowess, legal reasoning, and drafting skills by simulating the role of a judge in crafting well-reasoned decisions. Finally, the Constitution Quiz challenges participants to test their knowledge of constitutional law, landmark judgments, and historical milestones, fostering a deeper understanding of India’s legal framework.
Structure of the Competition
The Moot Court segment comprises three distinct competitions:
- Moot Court Competition
- Judgment Writing Competition
- Constitution Quiz
Important Note: Each institute must enrol at least one team in the Moot Court Competition to participate in the Judgment Writing Competition and Constitution Quiz.
Eligibility
The moot court segment is open to students enrolled in 3-year LL.B., and 5-year integrated law programs such as BA LL.B., B.Sc. LL.B., BBA LL.B., and other equivalent courses across India. Each institute is allowed to register one team for the Moot Court Competition.
Team size
- Moot Court Competition: Each team must have 3 members: 2 speakers and 1 researcher.
- Judgment Writing Competition: One student from the same team participating in the Moot Court Competition can register separately for the Judgment Writing Competition.
A maximum of 4 participants per institute is allowed for the Moot Court segment, including Judgment Writing.
- Constitution Quiz: Teams that do not qualify for the Semi-Finals of the Moot Court Competition will have the chance to participate in the Constitution Quiz.
The same team members from the Moot Court segment will compete in the Quiz, but only if they do not progress to the Semi-Finals.
Fee
The registration fee for the Moot Court Competition is ₹6,000 (with accommodation) or ₹3,000 (without accommodation), and participation in the Judgment Writing and Constitution Quiz is included at no extra cost.
Prize
- Moot Court Winners: ₹30,000 + Trophy + Certificate
- Moot Court Runners-Up: ₹20,000 + Trophy + Certificate
- Best Researcher: ₹5,000 + Trophy + Certificate
- Best Memorial: ₹5,000 + Trophy + Certificate
- Best Speaker (Male): ₹5,000 + Trophy + Certificate
- Best Speaker (Female): ₹5,000 + Trophy + Certificate
- Best Judgment: ₹10,000 + Trophy + Certificate
- Best Judgment (Runners-Up): ₹5,000 + Trophy + Certificate
- Constitution Quiz Winners: ₹10,000 + Trophy + Certificate
