About National Moot Court Competition
The SPARKLE 6.0 National Moot Court Competition serves as a platform for law students to develop their advocacy, research, and writing skills while engaging with pressing legal issues. This year’s moot problem focuses on the regulation of surrogacy and assisted reproductive technologies, examining the constitutional validity of provisions under the Surrogacy (Regulation) Act, 2021, and the Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Act, 2021. Key issues include access to surrogacy for single parents and LGBTQ+ individuals, age restrictions, and diving into the realm of complexities of the prohibition of commercial surrogacy, raising debates on equality, ethical considerations, and reproductive rights.
