Fakir Mohan University has marked 25 years (1999-2024) of academic excellence, establishing itself as a trusted institution for quality professional education, attracting students from across the country and beyond. In alignment with UGC and BCI guidelines, the University introduced LL.M. and B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programs in 2002 and 2017, respectively.
About the Seminar
The seminar on “Re-defining Social Justice: A Constitutional Mandate” aims to explore the evolving interpretations and applications of social justice in the context of constitutional principles. It seeks to critically examine how constitutional mandates have addressed issues of inequality, discrimination, and social exclusion, while also exploring pathways for redefining social justice in response to contemporary challenges.
Discussions will delve into themes such as the role of the Constitution in promoting equality and social empowerment, the effectiveness of affirmative action and welfare policies, and the impact of judicial interpretations on social justice. The conference will also explore global perspectives on constitutionalism and social equity, offering comparative insights into how different legal systems address social inequalities.

NB: Up to two members can co-author. In this case, each participant must register separately.
Registration Procedure
- STEP 1: Once the communication of acceptance of the abstract is made, the selected authors shall be provided with the bank details in order to complete the registration through the payment as per the above-mentioned criteria.
- STEP 2: After receiving the abstract confirmation, and making the payment as per the above-mentioned criteria, fill out the payment confirmation form with all of the necessary information and add the screenshot of the payment details.
- Registration fee does not include accommodation, or travel (national and local transportation). However, in case of need, we will assist the participants with the details regarding logistics/possible accommodation nearby.
- For Abstract Submission: Paper presenters are required to send their abstract of the paper in word doc. format with the subject “Abstract submission- Name of paper presenters” attached to the google form provided: https://forms.gle/wtAs3qQPZmWsbPr4A
- For Author’s Registration and Payment Confirmation: After acceptance of abstract selection, the selected papers’ authors are required to register for the event using the following link after making the payment as per the criteria mentioned: https://forms.gle/r9nWhwDCBFau7bSF6
- For Full Paper Submission: Paper presenters are required to send their papers in word doc. format. The paper should be uploaded on the google form provided: https://forms.gle/3xT8W3muAe4pPzW1A
- For PPT Submission: Paper presenters are required to submit the presentation in the form provided: https://forms.gle/epJdFsNNk6JPJUHc6
- On registration, each participant shall be provided with a unique three-digit Code (e.g. FMULAW -101, FMULAW – 102, etc.) which shall be used by both the FMU Law Department and the participants over the course of the conference.
Awards
- Best 3 papers will be awarded with memento and certificates.
- All paper presenters will be awarded with participation certificate.

Abstract Submission Guidelines
- Abstract should not exceed the word limit of 300 words.
- The abstract should be submitted in doc/docx format with the following specifications:
• Font Type: Times New Roman
• Font Size: 12 pts
• Line spacing: 1.5
• Alignment: Justified - The abstract should mention the following specific details on the front page:
• Name of the Author
• Contact Number
• Email ID
• Title of the Submission - Rename the document as Name of Author_Title while submission of the abstract.
FULL PAPER SUBMISSION GUIDELINES - Original research papers are welcomed on the mentioned topics but are not restricted to the themes as given.
- The paper can be co-authored. However, a maximum of two co-authors per entry are allowed.
- The author(s) shall specify in their submission:
• Title of the paper with the theme.
• Names of author(s).
• Name of the College/institution
• Email address and contact number. - The full paper should be submitted in doc/docx format with the following specifications:
Length of full paper: 3000 – 5000 words
• Font type: Times New Roman
• Size of the headings: 16 pts
• Size of the body: 12 pts
• Line spacing: 1.5
• Alignment: Justified
• Footnotes font type: Times New Roman
• Footnotes font-size: 10 pts
• Footnotes Line spacing: 1
• Margin to be 1 inch on all sides.
• Follow the Bluebook Citation (21st Edition) for footnoting - All submissions should be original and non-plagiarized work and should not have been submitted for publication/published elsewhere in any form.
- Rename your document in this format before submission: Team Code_Title (e.g. FMULAW101_ Title of the paper)
- A presentation will be made by the participants through PPT or any other means of presentation, upon selection of the abstract.
