The Intellectual Property Rights Cell (IPRC) of Government Law College (GLC), Mumbai has been launched by the college to educate students and innovators about Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). This initiative aims to foster a culture of innovation and creativity while equipping participants with essential knowledge and practical skills. Through competitions, research papers, certificate courses, expert lectures, and pro-bono work, the cell seeks to impart comprehensive theoretical understanding and practical application of IPR. This holistic approach prepares students to navigate the complexities of IPR, contributing to their academic and professional development in an increasingly innovation-driven global landscape

About the Session

The Intellectual Property Rights Cell of Government Law College, Mumbai, is proud to host Priyanka Khimani, for an interactive session. The discussion will explore the legal intricacies faced by media houses, publishing bodies, and content platforms in an evolving digital landscape. From contractual disputes to rights management and regulatory frameworks, the session will offer valuable insights into the role of legal professionals in shaping media policies. An interactive audience Q&A will follow, allowing attendees to engage with Priyanka Khimani directly, seek guidance, and gain firsthand knowledge from one of the industry’s most respected legal minds.

About the Speaker

A distinguished alumna of GLC Mumbai, Priyanka Khimani is one of India’s foremost Media and Entertainment lawyers. She has built an illustrious career representing some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, including global artists, production houses, music labels, and digital platforms. As a Founder of Khimani & Associates and Women of Music India (WOMI)—an initiative dedicated to empowering women in the music industry; she has played a pivotal role in shaping legal strategies that navigate the fast-changing media and entertainment landscape.
