About Civil Litigation & Drafting Course
This is an 8-class intensive Civil Litigation & Drafting Course designed to equip law students and young professionals with the practical skills required to thrive in dispute resolution roles at law firms and litigation chambers.

- Final Arguments – Summarizing and Presenting Legal Arguments
Week 6 to 8: Drafting Civil Pleadings & Court Practice
- Introduction to drafting civil suits, applications, replies and written statements
- Structure and format of a plaint – heading, jurisdiction clause, cause of action, prayer clause
- Drafting interim applications like injunctions, appointment of commissioner, etc.
- Drafting reply to interim applications – dealing with urgency, denial of reliefs
- Drafting written statements with proper denials, admissions, and counter-claims
- Drafting replications – how to counter false allegations and clarify position
- How to frame prayers – mandatory injunction, declaration, damages, specific performance, etc.
- Pleading damages and interest – drafting specific and justifiable claims
- Drafting for commercial suits – keeping in mind the Commercial Courts Act requirements
- Drafting of affidavits – evidence affidavit, affidavit in support of applications
- Annexing documents – list of documents, marking exhibits, preparing index
