About Organisation
In 2018, Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University established the Legal Incubation Centre (DSLIC) to foster business and advocacy skills in students and young lawyers. It serves as an institutional framework for offering a range of services, in all facets of the professional competencies required by aspiring advocates. A few events conducted by DSLIC include CSI, Vibodha – a Workshop on Legal Entrepreneurship, a Workshop on Civil and Criminal Trial Advocacy, a Workshop on Forensic Sciences etc . DSLIC’s goals are :
- Encourage and support startups in the field of law with an interdisciplinary approach
- Bridge the gap between Theory and Practice
- Provide opportunities for Experiential Learning to students and young lawyers
- Promote Continuous legal education
About the Opportunity
Damodaram Sanjivayya Legal Incubation Centre, Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, Visakhapatnam, is glad to inform you that we are organizing a CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION 5.0 – National Level Competition. CSI is the flagship event of the Legal Incubation Centre. It is conducted since 2017.
CSI 4.0 was conducted on September 24, 2022, with the theme “Pharma Honey Trap”. The competition had about 100 teams, with 3 participants in each team. It witnessed the participation of students from a wide range of law schools across the country. A significant number of students from other disciplines have also shown keen interest in taking part in the competition.
Eligibility
Team of 3 students. Students of any discipline can take part in the competition.
Theme
Crime Scene Investigation.
The goal of CSI is to gain further insights into the circumstances surrounding a crime by utilizing material proof from the crime scene and applying inductive and deductive reasoning to analyze it. It is a multidisciplinary process that includes a structured search of the crime scene, careful observation and documentation of the scene, photography, sketching, identification, processing, and gathering of physical evidence, including blood and hair samples, fibers, biological fluids, fingerprints, footprints, and other material evidence, importantly; the application of participants’ observational skills and reasoning abilities with legal and logical aptitude.

- First Prize- INR 5000/-
- Second Prize- INR 4000/-
- Third Prize- INR 3000/-
- Consolation Prize- INR 1500/-
All Participants shall be provided with a kit, participation certificate, and an Asia Law Book publications’ book on advocacy.

- The date of the competition is 23.03.2024
Registration Fee
Early Bird offer till 16th March 2024 is INR 600/- and normal registration is INR 750/- per team.
