AboutPanjab University Swami Sarvanad Giri Regional Centre
Since its inception in the year 2006, Panjab University Swami Sarvanad Giri Regional Centre, Hsp has always been instrumental in providing “Qualitative Education” to its students who come to the center not just from the region but also from other states of the country. In fact, a large number of students come from all across the nation to PUSSGRC for their academic pursuits. We promote the feelings of Cultural Pluralism and students are acquainted not just with academic knowledge but feelings of communal harmony and cultural pluralism are also imbued amongst them.
About the Fest
Continuing the tradition Panjab University Swami Sarvanad Giri Regional Centre Hoshiarpur is organizing a Law and Cultural Fest:- Aequitas 2024 from 15 February 2024 to 17 February 2024. The aim of the event is to promote culture and practical legal skills among students for their overall development and encourage their participation in other extra-curricular activities apart from their regular course. It gives an opportunity to the students to develop academic skills and to showcase their talent.
Events
National Moot Court Competition
Eligibility
Only ONE TEAM is allowed per institution.
Each team shall consist of a maximum of 3 members (2 mooters and 1 researcher) or (2 mooters). Once the competition commences, the team composition cannot be altered. However, under certain circumstances, if any alteration is necessitated, it should be brought to in notice of the OC. Students of the host institution will NOT be allowed to participate. The soft copies of the memorial shall be sent in .pdf and .docs format to the email: mootcourt.aequitas2k24@gmail.com by 31st January 2024.
For every 4 hours of delay in soft copies of the memorial 2 marks will be deducted. Teams are requested to send 2 hard copies [the envelope should have the Team Code written on it] of each side (Prosecution & Defense) by 1st February 2024.

Registration Fee: Rs. 3500/- (Accommodation and Food Charges are excluded) Each team is required to e-mail the scanned copy of their duly filled-in Registration form & Travel form (if applicable) along with the payment receipt to reg.aequitas24@gmail.com. National Client Counseling Competition
Eligibility
The Competition is open for students pursuing three / five-year LL.B./BALLB Degree Courses from a recognized Law College/University in India, subject to fulfillment of the registration formalities. Teams from the host institute are NOT allowed. A maximum 2 teams from a single institution can register for this competition. Participants registering for Client Counseling will not be allowed to take part in Moot Court and vice versa.

- Best Team-Worth Rs. 21,000/- & Certificate of Merit.
- Runners-up worth Rs. 11,000/- & Certificate of Merit.
- Best Counselor- Worth Rs. 3,500/- & Certificate of Merit.
- Best Client- Worth Rs.1,000/- & Certificate of Merit.

National Judgement Writing Competition
Eligibility
The participant should be currently pursuing their Bachelor’s Degree in law i.e. 3-Year LL.B. course or 5-Year BA LL.B. course from any recognized institute. Participants from the host college are also ALLOWED.
Prizes
- Winner: Worth Rs. 3,100/- + Trophy + Certificates
- Runner Up: Worth Rs. 1,100/- + Trophy + Certificates (In case, more than one participant secures the same marks, both of them will be rewarded with a full cash prize)

- No upper limit on the number of registrations. There can be multiple registrations from one college/department/institution. This is an individual or team (2 persons) participation competition.

INQUIZITIVE 3.0 (GENERAL QUIZ)
Eligibility
Each institution can send a maximum of 4 teams of two participants each. Registration is open for the first 50 teams only on a first come first serve basis.

It will include nukkad natak, mono-acting, play, skit, bhand, acting, mimicry, mime, etc. (Students from the Host Institute are ALLOWED to participate)

Aequitas proposes to provide a platform for budding lawyers to hone their skills by challenging their vigor in a plethora of events like Moots, Client Counseling, Judgment Writing, Quiz, and Parliamentary Debate. Strenuous days will then transpose into a saga of zealous events where ingenious competing teams will have their eyes set on cash prizes worth up to Rs. 3 lacs. Putting gobstoppers on top, we have invited renowned personalities from the legal fraternity and Broadway to brace and reinvigorate our participants and fellow spectators.
Dates- The fest is scheduled to be held from 15th to 17th February 2023, spanning between 3 days. The schedule, registration process, and contact details of the event heads are mentioned in the brochure which has been attested herewith.
