About Kerala Law Academy Law College

Kerala Law Academy Law College (KLA), established in 1966, is a premier institution for legal education and research in India, located in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Affiliated with the University of Kerala and recognized by the Bar Council of India, KLA has a long-standing reputation for excellence in producing top-tier legal professionals.

Young Jurist is the Students Law Review of Kerala Law Academy, providing a platform for emerging legal scholars to contribute to scholarly discourse and engage with the broader legal community.

About the Journal

Young Jurist aims to nurture young legal talent by offering them a prestigious platform to publish original research, essays, case comments, and book reviews. The journal is dedicated to promoting legal scholarship among students and serves as a medium for intellectual exchange on contemporary legal issues.

Eligibility

“Young Jurist” is open to submissions from law students, legal scholars, academicians, and professionals who wish to contribute to legal scholarship. Submissions are welcome from both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Theme

The inaugural issue of Young Jurist welcomes submissions on a broad range of legal topics. Contributors are encouraged to explore contemporary legal challenges, innovative interpretations of legal principles, and emerging areas of law.

Sub-themes

While submissions can address any legal topic, suggested sub-themes include:

  • Constitutional Law and Governance
  • Human Rights and Social Justice
  • Criminal Law and Justice
  • International Law and Global Affairs
  • Technology, Law, and Ethics
  • Environmental Law and Sustainability
  • Commercial Law and Business Regulations

Submission Categories

  • Articles: 3500 – 4500 words
  • Essays: 1500 – 3500 words
  • Short Notes: 1500 – 3000 words
  • Case Comments: 1500 – 3000 words
  • Book Reviews: 1500 – 3000 words

Submission Guidelines

  • Originality: Submissions must be original works and not previously published or under consideration elsewhere.
  • Plagiarism: Submissions found to have plagiarized content will be rejected outright.
  • Co-authorship: Co-authorship is permitted, with a maximum of three authors per submission.
  • Citation Style: All submissions must adhere to the 21st Blue Book Citation Format, which follows a uniform citation format.
  • Formatting: Manuscripts should be double-spaced, in Times New Roman, font size 12, with 1-inch margins on all sides.

Processing Charges

There are no processing or publication charges for the inaugural issue of Young Jurist.

General Instructions

  • Submissions should be well-researched, and analytical, and present original viewpoints on the chosen topic.
  • Authors are encouraged to engage critically with existing literature and provide insights that contribute to the advancement of legal scholarship.
  • All submissions will undergo a rigorous peer-review process.

Submissions must be emailed to “youngjuristSLR@keralalawacademy.in” in .doc or .docx format. Please include the author’s name, affiliation, and contact information in the body of the email. The subject line should read: “Submission – [Title of Submission] – [Category].”
